First Post...Yeey😁😊😁😊!!
I would like to firstly congratulate myself for finally posting something on my blog page. I mean, I created it about twelve months ago and never actually posted anything.
I guess I had to deal with my personal issues first. By saying issues I am not talking about major setbacks, I am just talking about things I've been carrying with me all my life, ie. low self-esteem and lack of confidence. Some people don't understand how much ability these two things have, to hold you back from doing anything, I mean ANYTHING that you want to do. “My English is terrible”; “I’m not a writer”; “I’ve got nothing interesting to write about” Blah bla blah: These are some of the thoughts or excuses which got on my way.
Documenting my journey from South Africa to Australia was my biggest motivation to start blogging. I planned to start as soon as I boarded the plane. I wanted to keep track of my ups and downs, strengths and weakness’, downfalls and victories. I wanted to do this not just for the fun of it, but to learn from every situation I find myself in, whether good or bad, and use them to make my future decisions. I thought this would be easier, since I was going to spend a lot of time by myself. I wanted to keep track of my personal growth and achievements. But it never happened, until now…
What I hope to gain from this is, a better understanding of my thoughts, behaviour, frustrations, as well as to give hope, accept advice and create meaning from my situations. I’ve realised that, we often forget how far we've come because we seldom reflect on our shortcomings and breakthroughs. I believe that is the reason we always feel overly traumatized when difficult times approach. We forget that we have been through worse situations and we made it out; alive and stronger.
More than anything I believe this blog will help me reflect on my past so I can be better prepared for the future. Not forgetting: Improving my English 😁😁
You go girl, I'm so proud of you and the woman you've become. It's true it can be nerve-racking having to share a space (either be at a work place or just socialy) with people who went to better schools, speak proper English and with alot of confidence but I've realised that we are just as capable and can be and do anything we set our mind to. All the best with your blogs
